In February 2001 ADEPT and The Romanian Association for Community Development launched a community development project funded by Charity Know How. During the project, 6 community groups from Moldova and Romania will be identified and their capacity will be strengthened.
On September 5-9 2001, a course on proposal writing was held in Vadului lui Voda for the community leaders from Branesti (Orhei), Tipova (Orhei) si Hincesti (Balti), as well as 3 Romanian communities. The course began with the participants reporting on the lessons learned in consulting the community in view of identifying community problems. During the five day course participants learned to write proposals on solving problems they identified in the communities. Participants left Vadului lui Voda, as one participant put it with "huge responsibility to the communities who delegated them" as they are the ones to lead the community to a better life.
