CEC of Gagauzia has rejected Mr. Dmitri Cimpoes request of registration as candidate for the Governor post of Gagauzia. The invoked reason was that many signatures were repeated, and after the exclusion of errors the potential candidate did not meet the requirement regarding the minimum number of subscription signatures necessary for registration. This is a second case when CEC of Gagauzia declines registration of a candidate for the Governor post of Gagauzia.

Vice-president of Gagauz CEC related that on 2 November 2006 the first complaint has been submitted. Candidate Mihail Formuzal reveals that on 2 November 2006 police has abusively retained one of his representatives. Formuzal criticizes also the election campaign development and informs on misusing under electoral rationalities of the administrative factor by the incumbent Governor Gheorghe Tabunscic, supported by the ruling party.
