Elections of the Governor (Bashkan) of Gagauzia (Gagauz Yeri) on March 22, 2015
At 22 March 2015 has been the day of elections of the Governor of Gagauzia. Ten electoral contestants, all being independent candidates, participated in the elections. To win the elections, a candidate must obtain at least 50% of votes in the first round. If none of the candidates obtains the simple majority of citizens’ votes in the first round, a second round of elections will be organized within two weeks, with the participation of the two candidates who gathered the most votes in the first round.
The rate of participation registered at the closing time of voting places (at 21:00) was 58.21%, which is sufficient to consider the elections valid.
