The Central Electoral Commission of Moldova accredited international observers for the elections of Bashkan
The Central Electoral Commission of Moldova accredited international observers for the elections of Bashkan and partial elections of the People’s Assembly. The decision was made at the Commission’s meeting of 24 February.
The elections of the autonomy’s Governor and of the two members of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia will be monitored by representatives of the Embassies of Turkey and Azerbaijan in Moldova. // gagauzinfo.md
The electoral platform of Irina Vlah, candidate for the position of the Bashkan of Gagauzia, was presented at an event in Comrat on 24 February. Gagauzia’s authorities shall extend their cooperation with Russia and Turkey and focus more attention on the creation of new jobs and on improvement of citizens’ living conditions, Irina Vlah claims.
Referring to the growing electoral campaign, the candidate mentioned that some opponents are doing everything to defame her, but her team “will in no case respond with similar actions.”
“We will be promoting a fair and positive campaign. We will present to the people of the Gagauz autonomy viable solutions to the most urgent problems. Our priorities include strategic partnership with Russia, creation of jobs, and establishment of a developed infrastructure. The person will be in the focus of social policies. The fifth priority is maintenance of traditions and consolidation of the autonomy,” Irina Vlah added.
Oleg Kayky submitted an application to the CEC of Gagauzia in order to withdraw from the electoral race
Oleg Caici submitted a declaration to the Central Electoral Commission of Gagauzia, requesting to be withdrawn from the electoral race for the elections of Bashkan. The announcement has been made by Valentin Cara, chairman of the region’s CEC. The Commission is to formulate a position in connection with this request at its following meeting.
Oleg Caici withdrew from the electoral race in favor of Nicolai Dudoglo. The announcement was made on Saturday, 21 February, at a meeting with the voters of the city of Ceadir-Lunga. // gagauzmedia.md
