Vlad Filat: Russia directly interferes with elections in Gagauzia
“Public authorities must take note of the serious violations committed by the Russian Federation, its interference with the internal affairs of the Republic of Moldova, especially with the electoral process in the Gagauz autonomy.” The statement has been made today by the Liberal-Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) leader Vladimir Filat at the plenary Parliament meeting concerning the ongoing electoral campaign in Gagauzia.
PLDM chairman asked his words to be interpreted not as an attack against Russia, but as an appeal to comply with the national legislation. Candidate Alexandr Stoianoglo published his electoral program
Candidate for the position of Bashkan Alexandr Stoianoglo presented his electoral platform to the public, sharing his views on the future of the autonomy. The members of his team, who will be representing the structures of the executive power in case of his victory, were also invited to the event.

Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko had a meeting on 5 March with candidate for the Bashkan of Gagauzia Irina Vlah and wished her “solid victory in the first round.” Valentina Matvienko highly appreciated the candidate’s electoral program.
