Irina Vlah, candidate for Bashkan of Gagauzia, might win the elections in the first round on 22 March. It results from the public opinion surveys conducted by the CBS-AXA Center among 650 residents of Gagauzia between 22 February and 4 March and by the “Dialogue” Center between 25 February and 10 March among 1,207 respondents.
Respondents answered the direct question of CBS-AXA, “What candidate would you vote for if the Bashkan elections took place on the nearest Sunday?”, as follows: 43.3% for Irina Vlah, 15.6% for Nicolai Dudoglo, 4.8% for Valerii Ianioglo, 4.3% for Oleg Garizan, 3.7% for Dmitrii Croitor, 1.1% for Alexandr Stoianoglo, and 0.9% for another candidate.
According to the survey of the “Dialogue” Center, respondents’ answers were as follows: 52.4% for Irina Vlah, 12.6% for Nicolai Dudoglo, and 10.4% for Valerii Ianioglo. // gagauzinfo.md
CEC of Moldova: The lists of Gagauz voters should include about 95 thousand persons
The lists of voters of the Gagauz autonomy should include about 95 thousand persons, according to the Central Electoral Commission of Moldova. The CEC Secretary Andrei Volentir said that despite some problems related to the organization of the Bashkan elections, the commission has no intention to interfere with the situation so as “not to create additional tension.”
Volentir noted that the authorized representatives of the autonomy’s mayors’ offices have access to the national register of citizens so as to update their lists. However, so far “no interested person has come to Chisinau.” // gagauzinfo.md

The autonomy’s Central Electoral Commission has published the financial report about the information concerning the money in the electoral funds of candidates for Bashkan in the period between 9 to 14 March.

Roman Tiutin: The police removed Irina Vlah’s electoral banners in Vulcanesti
In the town of Vulcanesti, police employees have removed the electoral banners of candidate for Bashkan Irina Vlah. The information has been provided to Gagauzinfo.md by Roman Tiutin, member of the People’s Assembly and authorized representative of the candidate.
Overall, seven Irina Vlah’s banners on which the Party of Socialists expressed its support for the independent candidate, as well as the banners depicting Irina Vlah with the Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko, have been removed in Vulcanesti.
Roman Tiutin underlined that in connection with this fact, an application would be made to the prosecutor’s office and to the Central Electoral Commission of Gagauzia, so that they assess the actions of the law enforcement. // gagauzinfo.md
