Elections for General Mayor of Chisinau municipality of May 25 and June 8, 2003

The 2003 elections were the third electoral campaign for mayor of Chisinau. In the first round of elections none of 8 candidates received necessary 50% of votes needed for an outright win. Therefore, the runoff elections were held on June 8 between Serafim Urechean and Vasile Zgardan, the two candidates who received the largest number of votes on May 25. The voter turnout was 46.56%, and the incumbent General Mayor of Chisinau municipality, Serafim Urechean, was re-elected for the second term.Elections for Chisinau Municipal Council
