Candidate Valerii Klimenco and his supporters published the newsletter PATRIA-RODINA-RAVNOPRAVYE. The 200,000-copy circulation publication comprises four pages covering an appeal of the contestant to electors, his electoral programme, call of Klimenco’s supporters to voters, criticism against ruling party, and electoral humour.

The press service of the independent candidate to the Chisinau mayor post, Dumitru Braghis, released a communication reading the following: “a) the ruling party has started directly applying administrative resources against electoral contestants; b) the staff of Braghis signed a contract with the limited society Standart on June 20 regarding the placement for pay of electoral advertising in favour of this candidate in the city. For this purpose, the staff also presented the agreement of the general directorate for architecture and city planning of the Municipal Council to company. However, the envisaged directorate demanded on June 22 the immediate withdrawal of posters; c) on June 23, Chisinau ad-interim Mayor Vasile Ursu annulled the authorisation of the Municipal Council for placement of electoral advertising in the city. The staff of competitor Dumitru Braghis fears that all these actions were taken at the indication of PCRM representatives. d) PCRM candidate Zinaida Grecianii is favoured at radio and TV channels as well; e) all these examples demonstrate that the ruling party has no intention to respect the democratic principles on conduct of electoral campaign and to comply with the European norms on free and fair elections.” (By INFOTAG)
