The independent candidate to the Chisinau mayor post, Mihai Severovan, has contested the actions of the public television channel Moldova-1 aimed “to backbite and discredit” him: a) Moldova-1 had rejected the electoral clip of candidate without any juridical ground, violating Article 2 and Article 26 of the concept on coverage of electoral campaign by mass media. Under Article 18 of the concept concerned, the electoral competitor is responsible for composition of add and, therefore, Moldova-1 had no right to any interpretations; b) the court alone, not Moldova-1, can rule on violation of copyrights; c) he reserved the right to sue the organisers of the libel campaign.
