In the first round of elections got 59,241 of the valid votes (27.62%), becoming one of the top two candidates who qualified for the runoff elections.In the runoff elections got 82,653 of the valid votes (38.83%), less than his opponent and lost the race for mayor.

Born on June 12, 1966 in the village of Chircaiesti, the district of Causeni.
Education:
- Graduated from the Engineering Faculty of the Academy of Constructions in Communal Services based in the Ukrainian city of Kharkov.
Professional experience:
- 1998 — chief of the service for maintenance of civil buildings of the railway company of Moldova CFM;
- 2000 — deputy director-general for social affairs and capital constructions of the railway company of Moldova CFM;
- 2003 — municipal councillor on behalf of the PCRM;
- 2005 — awarded the Order of the Republic;
- From April 2006 — deputy Chisinau mayor;
- From January 2007 — ad-interim mayor-general of Chisinau.
