Elections for General Mayor of Chisinau municipality of June 14 and 28, 2015
The June 2015 elections were the seventh electoral campaign for General Mayor of Chisinau municipality. In the first round none of the 17 candidates received necessary 50% of votes needed for an outright win. Therefore, the runoff elections were held on June 28 between Dorin Chirtoaca and Zinaida Greceanii, the two candidates who received the largest number of votes in the first round on June 14. The voter turnout was 48.68%, although there is no voter turnout threshold for the runoff local elections. Dorin Chirtoaca, the incumbent General Mayor of Chisinau municipality, was re-elected for a third term.
