Foreigners’ involvement into electoral campaigns has been prohibited
The Parliament has voted in two readings a draft law prohibiting the involvement of foreign citizens into electoral campaigns. The initiative was proposed by the MPs representing the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM). The law prohibits organization of concerts and other cultural and artistic events by electoral contestants with participation of foreign performers, and the violation of these provisions might result in exclusion of such contestants from the electoral race. The draft law had been supported by the Democratic Party, the Party of Communists and the Liberal Party. // IPN
The BCC adopted the concept of coverage of the local elections campaign
According to the concept approved by the Broadcasting Coordinating Council (BCC), each broadcaster covering the electoral campaign for the local elections of 14 June 2015 will have to present to the BCC weekly reports about the amount of electoral airtime.
During the debates concerning the concept, the BCC decided that the broadcasters covering the general local elections of 14 June will air electoral materials in a special section — “Local Elections 2015”. Airtime will be provided to electoral contestants for a fee; electoral advertising and electoral debates will also be broadcast only within this section. // IPN
