The Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) announced at a public event that Zinaida Greceanii is their candidate for the Chisinau municipality general mayor’s office in the general local elections of 14 June. The PSRM Chairman Igor Dodon motivated this choice by the fact that “the future mayor of Chisinau municipality shouldn’t do politics or be a member of a political party.” “The PSRM candidate will not do geopolitics, will not fight against the East or the West, but will only deal with the capital’s problems,” Dodon said.

Zinaida Greceanii is a member of the Moldovan Parliament representing the PSRM, but she is not a member of the party. In the period of 2008–2009 she was the prime minister of Moldova. // moldpres.md
