Report: Violations committed in the electoral campaign for the local elections

22 electoral actors used administrative resources and nine others offered electoral gifts for promotion — these are the gravest violations found by Promo-LEX Association, which presented the second report of the General Local Elections of 14 June 2015 Observation Mission. The violations found by Promo-LEX also include the ones related to the funding of political parties. Only five electoral contestants out of nine who submitted reports to the Central Electoral Commission indicated their incomes and expenses. At the same time, only four citizens made financial contributions amounting to 950 thousand lei for the parties’ campaign funds.

Ilan Shor registered for electoral race for Orhei mayor’s office

According to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) chairman, the law is one for all, and as long as there is no final decision condemning Shor, he can run for the office and was registered. “The Orhei District Electoral Council made this decision after receiving replies from law officials. Moreover, we presented to them the data that we had received from the Ministry of Justice regarding the list of condemned persons who have no right to be candidates in elections. Ilan Shor’s name was clearly not on the list,” Iurie Ciocan said.

11 persons are running for mayor of Orhei, all designated by political organizations; those 11 organizations also submitted lists of candidates for Orhei city council, while three persons are running for membership in the council independently. // realitatea.md
