The first OSCE Mission report on the general local elections
Members of the OSCE/ODIHR observation mission for the elections of 14 June have found that many of the electoral contestants are conducting their campaign from door to door and through small community meetings. The messages of the campaign are significantly affected by the corruption scandal in the banking system and by the polarization of society in terms of Eastern or Western political orientation of the country. The PVE proposes public lie detection testing of all candidates for mayor
The Ecological Green Party (PVE) proposes to have public lie detection testing of all candidates for Chisinau mayor. “We’ve sent the appeal to all candidates for Chisinau mayor, suggesting public lie detection testing, which would be conducted in the presence and under the monitoring of mass media. The deadline for confirmation of electoral contestants’ agreement is June 7, 2015. Technical aid was requested from the National Anticorruption Center,” the party’s announcement says, signed by its Chairman Anatolie Prohnitchi. According to the announcement, candidates would undergo testing on Tuesday, June 9, between 09.00 and 23.00 in a meeting room at the Chisinau city hall. // realitatea.md
