The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) reminds that today, June 12, 2015, is the last day when electoral contestants can do electoral campaigning. According to Article 47 (8) of the Electoral Code, electoral campaigning on voting day and the day before it is prohibited. On these days, it is not allowed to conduct/cover activities/materials related to electoral campaigning and candidates are not allowed to appear on radio or television. Also, electoral contestants cannot make transfers to/from the account titled “Electoral fund”.

The Broadcasting Coordinating Council (BCC) found no violations of rules on the coverage of the electoral campaign in the period of monitoring televisions from May 28 to June 6. Having examined the monitoring report, the BCC noticed an improvement in the work of televisions, which started giving airtime and attention to various candidates and political parties. Members of the BCC appealed to televisions with the request to continue covering the electoral campaign objectively and impartially. // Infotag

At a press conference, the Promo-LEX Association presented its third report on monitoring the general local elections of 14 June 2015. According to the report, the following violations took place: 61 cases of use of administrative resources (19 cases more than in 2011); 59 cases of offering electoral gifts (at least 99 in 2011); 11 cases of use of public office in the electoral campaign; 20 cases of distribution of printed electoral advertising without indicating the information required by electoral legislation; 2 cases of involvement of minors into the electoral campaign; use of prohibited symbols, active involvement of church into electoral campaign, cases of involvement of members of electoral bureaus in electoral campaign.
