PDM accuses PCRM of making electoral advertising on public funds
The Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) has accused its electoral opponent PCRM of being an accomplice of the National Public Broadcaster (IPNA) Teleradio-Moldova with the purpose to benefit of advertising paid from public funds. According to PDM, IPNA Teleradio Moldova was authorised by the Chisinau City Hall to organise a concert dedicated to the Saint Valentine’s Day. At the same time, the electoral contestant PCRM was disseminating leaflets to city residents via its young organisation called Union of Communist Youth in Moldova (UTCM), telling people that the UTCM along with music bands ExNN, Delfin, Zdob si Zdub was organising a concert in the Great National Assembly Square. The same leaflets had an attachment calling upon people to vote the PCRM, featuring a young woman in a T-shirt on which it was written “I vote”, the letter “e” under the shape of a criss-cross hammer and sickle that means an element of the electoral symbol of PCRM.
“True love” of PDM
On the Saint Valentine’s Day, the PDM has organised public actions called “You deserve a true love”, in Chisinau and rayons of the country.
AMN will be “closer to people and their needs”
The Moldova Noastra Alliance (AMN) has introduced its list of candidates to the April 5, 2009 parliamentary elections. According to AMN leader Serafim Urechean, “AMN is the strongest alloy between wisdom and youthfulness. We need at least 600,000 votes to bring a change in the country.” The ceremony held to introduce the AMN list opened with a blessing of the electoral platfom by priests, and candidates voted a call upon electors in which they promised to be “closer to people and their needs.” (according to Info-Prim Neo)
PL divulges PCRM’s methods
The Liberal Party (PL) has divulged PCRM’s methods against rivals — it uses former detainees and students of the Police Academy in the electoral race. According to PL deputy chairman Anatol Salaru, while meeting electors from villages of Isacova and Seliste in the rayon of Orhei, a group of people who do not reside these villages tried to obstruct the meetings. The group of more than ten drunk people used violent words, threats and physical force. During discussions with that group it was established that some of them were students of the Police Academy Stefan cel Mare and others were former detainees who have been summoned at the police station before and threatened to be filed cases on their names, beaten and blackmailed with the purpose to make them participate in provocative actions against PL.
