Reactions to effects of PCRM “internationalism”

Foreign Minister Cristian Diaconescu told a press conference on March 29 that Chisinau authorities did not formally explain the situation at the Romania-Moldova border. Even more, he asked Moldovan authorities to stop abuses against Romanians. “We are disappointed with Chisinau authorities, as their actions reveal the lack of a real European commitment. The EU has stressed that the pace and quality of reforms in Moldova will influence the relations with Brussels institutions.” At least 245 Romanians were obstructed to enter the Republic of Moldova in the last four days. The Foreign Ministry has sent several notifications to the Chisinau authorities. The Romanian passport is the only document needed by Romanians to enter the Republic of Moldova, Diaconescu noted. However, Moldovan customs officers asked Romanians the last days to provide invitations legalised by a notary or health insurance. Even more, six Romanians were told that they could not cross the border because they did not have the HIV test. A journalist was invited to take the test on-the-spot, if he wanted to enter the Republic of Moldova. (Source: Realitatea TV/ Unimedia portal)

PCRM organises “Leftwing March” in capital

“Hundreds of supporters of the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova (PCRM), as well as PCRM members and electoral candidates have organised the «Left-wing March» in the Ciocana district of the capital. Carrying banners, slogans, flags of Moldova and PCRM, hundreds of people called upon residents of Ciocana district to participate in the April 5 elections and make the right choice. They had to stop some times to speak to curious pedestrians. People learned again, from organisers of the march this time, why the communists deserve to win the April 5 elections as well. Slogans like «Vote for Freedom, Vote for Stability», «Vote the Communists» or «We Are Invincible When We Are United» and explanations by the march’s organisers on difference between communists and other electoral contestants were some arguments given to passers-by to make a right choice on April 5.” (Source: Moldpres)
