PL withdraws its ministers from the list of candidates

Liberal Party submitted a notification to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), whereby informs about exclusion of four persons from the list of candidates lodged for registration on October 4, 2010. Those four candidates hold ministerial positions and had to suspend their activities during the electoral campaign. Although announced as if originally planned , the PL note occurs as a response to the recent address by Prime Minister Vladimir Filat to the party members of the ruling Alliance, requiring to undertake the necessary measures to ensure the quorum of the governmental meetings. According to the PL representative, the ministers concerned will be included in the list of candidates when deemed as necessary, since the Electoral Code allows changes up to 7 days before the election date.

Efforts to ensure voting in Corjova

Governmental authorities undertake efforts to ensure inhabitants of the village Corjova with the right to vote within the parliamentary elections of November 28. Deputy Prime Minister responsible for the reintegration announced that he will meet in the next few weeks with representatives of Tiraspol administration in order to discuss this issue. The members of Moldovan delegation to the Joint Control Commission undertake efforts to secure that the poll will also be held in Corjova without incidents. (Publika TV)

CEC consults with ombudsmen

Representatives of the Central Electoral Commission had a meeting with the ombudsman Tudor Lazar, during which they discussed issues related to parliamentary elections, protection of human rights in order to observe the right to vote and be elected. During discussions, it was agreed to holding further meetings to address issues of reference. (CEC)

PPCD Electoral Manifesto

Although not yet officially registered as candidate in the parliamentary elections of 28 November 2010, the Christian Democratic People’s Party (PPCD) has released a document titled “electoral manifesto”, which includes the slogan “From Confrontation — to Unity and Welfare”.
