Four more candidates for President have applied for registration of initiative groups
According to a press release from the CEC, four other candidates for President of the Republic of Moldova requested the registration of their initiative groups:
Ion Dron, independent candidate;
Valeriu Ghiletchi, independent candidate;
Ana Gutu, the candidate nominated by the “Right” Party;
Oleg Brega, independent candidate.
Within three days from the receipt of the documents submitted, the Central Electoral Commission will verify their correctness and will decide on registration or refusal of registration of initiative groups.
Five parties have nominated a common candidate for presidential race
Representatives of the Liberal Reformatory Party, People’s Party of the Republic of Moldova, the National Liberal Party, the Ecological Green Party, and “Democratia Acasa” Party decided by secret ballot to support Vitalia Pavlicenco in collecting signatures as an independent, unionist, pro-European candidate for the President of the Republic of Moldova. // pavlicenco.md
Nine initiative groups registered to collect signatures
CEC registered 9 initiative groups to collect signatures in support of candidates for President of the Republic of Moldova:
Dumitru Ciubasenco, candidate nominated by Our Party;
Andrei Nastase, candidate nominated by “Dignity and Truth” Platform;
Mihai Ghimpu, candidate nominated by the Liberal Party;
Maia Sandu, candidate nominated by “Action and Solidarity” Party;
Iurie Leanca, candidate nominated by European People’s Party of Moldova;
Igor Dodon, candidate nominated by Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova;
Mihai Corj, independent candidate;
Marian Lupu, candidate nominated by Democratic Party of Moldova;
Artur Croitor, independent candidate.
At the same time, CEC issued identification cards to the members of initiative groups and subscription lists forms to collect signatures in support of candidates for president.
