Valeriu Ghiletchi made an appeal to citizens asking them to sign petitions in his support. He said that so far his team gathered more than 10 thousand signatures, but he needs at least 15 thousand in order to be registered as candidate. Valeriu Ghiletchi claims that there are certain legal provisions which make the process of collecting signatures extremely difficult. The politician was referring to the principle of territorial representativeness, which requires potential candidates for president to have a minimum of 600 signatures from half of the 2nd level administrative units. The politician feels discriminated and believes that this provision is unjustified and is damaging independent candidates rights and the rights of thousands of his supporters. // IPN
