PAS remains committed to designating a common candidate
According to a statement distributed by the “Action and Solidarity” Party (PAS), the political party maintains its commitment to designate a common candidate and complies with the non-aggression pact signed with the pro-European opposition. The statement says that following recent events related to the agreement of the three parties to appoint a common candidate, it is noticed how insistently it is promoted the idea that a sociological survey/ surveys would not be sufficient to determine who the “candidate of the anti-oligarchic opposition” should be. However, PAS insists that this sociological tool, even if is not perfect, remains the most democratic and objective tool to test popular support for the common candidate.

Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova (PCRM) protested at the Constitutional Court (CC), against the decision of March 4, 2016 which returned to the direct election of the Moldovan president. “The CC judges violated the Constitution.
