Presidential candidate Inna Popenco representing the Ravnopravie movement (renamed Party SHOR), has been officially excluded from the presidential race. Central Election Commission (CEC) announced this on Saturday, based on a decision of the Supreme Court of Justice, which canceled CEC’s decision to register the candidate. Inna Popenco was accused of voters’ bribing and failure to report all campaign expenditures.
“It is an arbitrariness of the government that defends its candidates — Igor Dodon, Maia Sandu, Marian Lupu, being afraid of our growing popularity and of our good deeds,” said Inna Popenco after court’s decision. // IPN
CEC offered Maia Sandu 48 hours to provide the full financial report
Central Election Commission (CEC) has reviewed the complaint put forward by the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) with regard to election expenses reported by Maia Sandu. The Democratic Party asked CEC to examine the actual expenditures incurred by the PAS candidate during the campaign. According to the document, Maia Sandu has used money previously not declared to the CEC. In this regard, the CEC granted 48 hours to the presidential candidate to submit the financial report. // Curentul
