Campaigning is prohibited on election day and the day before it
Central Election Commission reminds everyone that today, October 28, 2016 is the last day when candidates can conduct their campaigning activities. According to the Electoral Code, art. 47 para. (8), campaigning is strictly forbidden on election day and the day before it. During these two days the law forbids candidates to conduct electoral activities or carry out coverage of electoral activities / campaign materials as well as to appear on TV and radio programs. Besides this, candidates can not make any payments from their dedicated electoral bank account marked “Electoral Fund”.
Broadcasting Coordinating Council has fined seven TV stations for improper campaign coverage
According to the most recent monitoring report published by the Broadcasting Coordinating Council, in the period of October 10 to 19, there was a more visible tendency of some radio broadcasters to favor certain presidential candidates and disfavor others. Thus, seven TV stations received the highest fine of 5,400 lei, one TV station was issued a public warning, and only three broadcasters were cautioned. // IPN

Promo-LEX electoral observation mission of October 30 concludes that there polling stations across the country are insufficiently prepared. The fourth monitoring report findings include data on the use of administrative resources by certain candidates, offerings of electoral gifts as well as failure to include all expenses in the financial reports submitted by the candidates. // IPN
Chisinau Appeal Court issued a decision approving Marian Lupu request regarding his withdrawal from the electoral race. According to the electoral law, the name of Marian Lupu in the ballot for the October 30 presidential elections, will be stamped with the word “withdrawn”. This task will have to be carried out by the officials in the precinct electoral bureaus.
Igor Dodon signed a public commitment that he will not enter into a coalition with the governmental parties
On the last day of the presidential elections campaign, Igor Dodon the socialist presidential candidate signed a public commitment where commits that after the presidential election he will not make a coalition with the ruling parties or with Vlad Plahotniuc. Dodon asked other candidates in particular Maia Sandu, to do the same and sign the public commitment.

Mihai Ghimpu has one pre-condition for his withdrawal from the presidential race
Liberal Party presidential candidate Mihai Ghimpu announced in a press-conference that he will withdraw from the presidential race if Maia Sandu the common candidate of the center-right opposition, will take-over one item from his electoral program, namely the one regarding the re-unification of Republic of Moldova with Romania.
Ana Gutu and Dumitru Ciubasenco to stay in the electoral race
Right Party presidential candidate, Ana Gutu, does not withdraw from the race, because this “would be a great disappointment for the true unionists in Moldova”. The statement was made by the party deputy chair Dorin Dusciac.
“Our Party” presidential candidate Dumitru Ciubasenco too, stated that he is ready to continue the battle and that he will not betray or disappoint the electorate. // IPN

According to the news portal gagauzinfo.md, Gagauz Autonomy Bashkan Irina Vlah urged the local population to actively participate in the elections of October 30, and support Igor Dodon.
Besides this the representatives of “Renaissance” Party appealed to party supporters and all citizens to participate in the elections on Sunday, October 30, and vote for PSRM leader, Igor Dodon. According to them, Igor Dodon is the only candidate proposing equal relations with all, and the strengthening of state sovereignty.
