25 political parties will participate in the referendum

Central Election Commission (CEC) issued a press-release informing that 25 political parties applied for being admitted to participate in the campaign for referendum. 16 parties out of 25 are pleading “in favor” of modification Article 78 of the Constitution, while the rest — “against”, or invite the citizens to boycott the referendum. Five political parties out of 30 registered will not participate in the referendum — Agrarian Party, Party of Law and Justice, Professionals Movement “Speranta-Nadejda”, New National Moldovan Party and the European Party.

The deadline for voters’ registration abroad expired

On August 10 expired the deadline of preliminary registration for Moldovan citizens abroad in the voters’ rolls. Accordingly, Moldovan citizens outside Moldova that have the right to vote must go to www.voteaza.md and complete the online registration form. The preliminary registration is not compulsory, and voters that did not register will be still able to vote in the voting stations in the region where they are located. (Infotag)

Voting with the certificate for the right to vote

Citizens that on the voting day, due to diverse reasons, will not be at their residence will be able to vote at any voting station. In order to do this, voters must appeal to the bureau of the voting station were they are included in the electoral list, and receive a certificate. Each citizens, as well as youth that was enrolled in 2010 at universities and do not have residence in the city, may receive certificates for the right to vote outside their hometown. Certificates are issued from August 16 to September 4. (Infotag)
