PCRM concerned about the possibility of electoral fraud abroad
The representatives of the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova (PCRM) declared at a press conference that the incumbent government would intend to fraud the referendum of September 5, especially in the polling stations abroad. PCRM backs its suspicions by the fact that the decision on setting up the polling stations abroad outside the diplomatic missions was adopted by electoral authorities with delay and the Republic of Moldova has not yet signed agreements with host countries. Although all parliamentary parties have the right to delegate their representatives and observers to the polling stations bureaus abroad, PCRM states that the Central Electoral Commission has not included the travel costs in the referendum budget and it is not clear how they will be recovered.
Minister of foreign affairs urges Moldovan citizens residing abroad to participate in referendum
Ministry of foreign affairs and European integration (MFAEI) denies the accusations of possible intimidation and penalization of Moldovan citizens illegally residing abroad, when they will come to the polling stations open for constitutional referendum. According to a press release by MFAEI, the Moldovan Government will use all legal levers to ensure optimal voting conditions thus that voters could participate in referendum without any sense of fear.
