 Evolution of the associative sector in the Republic of Moldova


After the adoption in September 1992 of the Regulation on public association, non-governmental organizations had known a considerable increase in number. According to the statistics of the Political Parties and Non-governmental Organizations Registration Department of the Ministry of Justice there are currently (as of October 1, 2001) 1960 organizations registered with the Ministry of Justice, whereas the total number of non-governmental organizations per country reaches 2500 (including local ones registered by local and county councils).
