Ways and Strategies of Harmonizing Interethnic Relations in the Republic of Moldova
In March 2001, ADEPT received a grant from the US Embassy to Moldova for the implementation of the project Ways and Strategies of Harmonizing Interethnic Relations in the Republic of Moldova. The project is aimed to promote interethnic tolerance; inform public opinion on the minorities issues, violence induced by ethnic intolerance; and educate public opinion on civic values. The project will consists in a series of radio shows entitled Civic Voice, five special issues of the Civic Voice newsletter on minorities, Legal Guide on domestic and international legislation regulating interethnic relations; a data base on domestic and international organizations active in the field.
From a Reluctant to a Participatory Democracy
In August 2001, ADEPT won a grant from the International Foundation for Election Systems (IFES) for the implementation of the project From a Reluctant to a Participatory Democracy. The project is aimed to continue IFES/Moldova's efforts in consolidating viable democratic institutions and procedures, encouraging citizens participation in the democratic processes of the society. The activities undertaken will include a series of roundtables and seminars together with the Central Electoral Commission; co-organizing together with CONTACT Center the III Edition of the National NGO Forum; Electoral School sessions for the youth branches of the political parties; publishing in the Civic Voice newsletter as well as on the web site commentaries and analysis on the electoral and political processes in Moldova.
