Leadership Training for Young Activists of Political Parties
In January 2002, ADEPT started implementing the project Leadership Training for Young Activists of Political Parties, funded by Westminster Foundation for Democracy, UK. This project represents a new dimension of the Electoral School, a training program for the youth branches of the political parties of the Republic of Moldova, conducted by IFES/ADEPT in 1999-2001.
The goal of the Leadership Training for Young Activists of Political Parties project is to contribute to the strengthening of political parties through empowering young party leaders and promoting a value based alternative to the current party system.
Thirty representatives of the political parties' youth branches will be trained during 27 sessions. ADEPTS will provide young party leaders with the knowledge and tools necessary to promote themselves within parties. As a result of this project, we hope to build trust among young party leaders by providing a framework for discussions, exchange of ideas and debates.
The project will include the following activities: designing the course curriculum entitled Leadership Handbook, 27 sessions of the Leadership School. The training activities shall end with a one-week Summer Leadership School to be organised outside Chisinau. During the summer school participants will develop various useful documents for the party building, such as code of conduct of political parties. All those documents, together with the essays written by the young politicians will be published in a brochure entitled Strategy of Compromise.
